Melbourne sessions - and general exhortation to keep listings updated
Hi all
I'll be heading to Melbourne (Australia) a number of times over the next few months and was looking up the sessions there on this site.
Calling the Dan O'Connell, it seems that the Mon and Tues listings are now out of date (ie no sessions there anymore on those nights). Is this correct as far as people know?
Does anyone know of any current Melbourne sessions on a monday?
Generally, if you're a regular at a session - or a visitor - and session arrangements change, it'd be excellent if you could jump on here and keep the listings up to date.
Re: Melbourne sessions - and general exhortation to keep listings updated
It kind of stands to reason Michael, that if a person isn't regular enough on here to be updating session listings, they won't be taking part in the discussions either. It's not like we're getting paid for contributing.
On the Dan's own website, it now lists a session - or "Celtic Jam" for Saturday night 6pm, but nothing for Monday or Tuesday
However, I'm pretty sure the Lomond is still going of a Monday night, better session than the Dan was anyway
Re: Melbourne sessions - and general exhortation to keep listings updated
Michael, I'd also exhort you to check the comments tab on the session listings for Melbourne, and add your own where necessary. You'll see that a poster called Finn Ogle has added some useful comments recently about the Corkman and the Celtic Club, and I've endeavoured add updated comments on my visits to various places
For example, you can read (in a 2006 comment) that the Monday night sessions are long since finished at the Dan, and moved to the weekend, and also that there is a Monday night session at the Lomond

Yep, as Bren pointed out Monday is at the Lowy about 9, Thursday is the Corkman at 7, friday there's the celctic club and the drunken poet, saturday at the dan and sunday at the quiet man.

Is that really the "Celctic" Club or is it in fact the eclectic Club

Drunken Poet's a new one on me. Now I'm trying to remember what it was called before.
So, in summary: it's Mundee at the Lowy, Thursdee at the Corky, Fridee at the Drunky or the Clecty, Saddee at the Dan and Sundee at the Man.
Grouse.
